About Dr. P.A. van der Eerden
Dr. Paul van der Eerden is an ENT specialist and facial surgeon with extensive experience in plastic and reconstructive facial surgery. When performing rhinoplasty, he focuses not only on the appearance of the nose, but also on preserving—or, where possible, improving—nasal breathing.
A rhinoplasty is a complex procedure because every nose has a unique structure. The treatment is therefore always customized, and the best possible outcome varies from person to person. Together with the patient, Dr. Van der Eerden develops a surgical plan in which wishes, expectations, and technical possibilities are carefully aligned. Photos and photo editing of the potential outcome can be used as a tool in this process.
Dr. Van der Eerden has been working as an ENT specialist and facial surgeon since 2006. He completed his training at the LUMC in Leiden and the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, followed by several fellowships in facial surgery in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In 2006, he passed the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery exam in Washington.
In 2013, he earned his Ph.D. with a dissertation on new surgical reconstruction techniques for the nose following the removal of skin cancer. In addition, he has published several scientific articles on reconstructive facial surgery and serves as a course instructor for various training programs and courses in facial surgery.
His main areas of expertise are cosmetic rhinoplasty, chin surgery, and ear surgery. He also performs reconstructive surgery following skin cancer on the face. Patients can also consult Dr. Van der Eerden for revision surgery following a previous rhinoplasty, tumor surgery, or trauma.
